2019 has started and for me that means: “New year, better me”. In recent years, I have refrained from any new Year’s intentions or goals, but this year I want to set some goals for the coming year, which I would like to share with you in this blogpost. At the same time, you get a glimpse of some of the blogposts that await you next year!
If you’re following my blog, it’s not new to you that I started to train for a triathlon last year. The training should pay off this year, so I definitely want to complete a triathlon. I have planned for a triathlon in may as well as in september. So far, the only thing I am not sure about is the distance that I will complete. From the current point of view, I will compete in the sprint distance in may to start off in the triathlon sport, but in September I would definitely like to challenge the olympic distance. If you want to know more about my triathlon preparation, you can read more about it here: #RoadTo: Triathlon – The beginning
Also, the Spartan Race, which I competet in last year, was so much fun, that it was immediately clear to me that more would follow. This year, my goal is to finish all 3 distances of the Spartan Races (5km, 13km and 20km) to qualify for the Trifecta World-Championship. The training for this can be perfectly integrated into my triathlon or regular strength training.
In addition to some other sporting events I do not want to set
only athletic goals for the new year. Because of my stressful everyday life I did not have much time for myself last year and I want to change this in the new year. I’ve been playing the piano for about 10 years of my life, but had no time for this hobby of mine during the last years. Because of that I want to play the piano at least once a week.
I began to write the 6-minute diary of Dominik Spenst as well and I am really looking forward to the experiences I am going to make with this book. If you want to read more about this please let me know in the comments, then I will cover this in a separate blogpost!
Academically, too, I am looking forward to an eventful year. The decision for a topic-specific seminar, which subsequently also determines the subject area of my bachelor thesis and thus also the direction in which I would like to move with my studies, is due this year.
What are your goals for 2019? Let me know in the comments!
